Prescription To Get Active (RxTGA)

Lac La Biche County is proud to join a growing network of organizations that support the Prescription to Get Active, a program designed to help people boost their physical activity levels by bringing healthcare and community recreation together. The County, the Primary Care Network, and the Associated Medical Clinic have partnered to provide this exciting program in our community.

How does it work?

Patients are prescribed physical activity by a doctor or healthcare professional. Patients who bring their Prescription to Get Active to participating facilities will receive a specified period of free general admission! Patients will receive a complimentary facility orientation, equipment demonstration, and ongoing support from facility staff members to help reach their physical activity goals.

FREE Track Access For All

In January 2019, County Council approved free track access for all residents to encourage healthier lifestyles, increase activity levels and create affordable options for community members to stay active.**Regular rules and supervision guidelines apply during free track use—please refer to track etiquette signage posted at top of stairs. The Free track access does not include access to the fitness equipment or spin bikes, but there are stretching mats and exercise balls available for use.

Paul Richard Memorial Spray Park

Be sure to share with your relatives and friends coming for a short or long stay!
